This topic provides basic information to help users get started with System Mechanic.
Refer to Navigating iolo System Mechanic for a description of the interface.
Begin by running an analysis of your computer. From the Dashboard's Overview pane, click Analyze Now (or Re-analyze).
Once the analysis completes, you will see a snapshot of your PC's condition and see how many (if any) problems System Mechanic detected.
To quickly make repairs and optimizations, simply click Repair All.
To view the list of problems prior to repairs, click View Problems. The Problems pane will display, allowing you to view details about the problems and choose which ones you want to fix; simply click the action button to the right of the problem.
If you would like to run additional fixes and optimizations, choose from the Power Tools, which combine several related functions into one, or pick a specialized task from the Individual Tools.
For example, if you've noticed that your computer is running slower, you may want to run the PC Accelerator Power Tool or choose an individual tool from the Increase Performance category.
All users may wish to run PC TotalCare, which performs a complete computer tune-up that improves overall operation.
As you continue to use System Mechanic, you'll discover additional ways to maintain your computer's performance. You can:
Set up automated monitoring and repairs in ActiveCare.
Manage your Internet protection.
Review system statistics for analysis and performance-tracking in the IntelliStatus and History panes.
Tailor System Mechanic settings to your preferences on the Options window.
Revert selected System Mechanic actions and system changes on the SafetyNet window.
Download software updates to keep up-to-date with the latest improvements and patches.
Register System Mechanic to receive discount offers and keep your licensing information on file.
